Learning programs are arranged by our Team Learning and Development as you grow in your role, equipping you with the knowledge to further your career in the company. **About the role**: To support the growth plans and our 24/7 plant operations, we are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and flexible Production Shift Manager. You will oversee your shift operations leading your team in meeting customer and quality requirements, product and process control, practicing SOP’s and coordinating all production support and systems activities. **Reporting Structure**:Reports to the Manufacturing Manager **Location**: The role is based in our Manufacturing Plant in the Bay of Plenty New Zealand. **What you will work on (Key Duties and Responsibilities)**: - Maintain shift production output/yield at defined level or target - Lead the production meeting every shift - Manage the roaster by ensuring employees are trained and certified and initiate manpower requests as necessary - Ensure that there is a smooth handover between shifts - Champion and drive a clean and safe environment practice & policy within the shift - Coordinates with Supply Chain and Logistics, Engineering, Quality, and Environmental Health and Safety that a proper schedule is in place. - Ensures production employees adherence to Company Rules and Regulations - Assist in the development of reporting for key operational indicators including labour optimisation, overtime, throughput rates, and inventory control. - Identify, drive and embed continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency programs within the shift. - Ensuring that KPI’s are met for quality, time, and cost **Who you are (Key Qualifications)**: **Education and Experience** - Bachelor’s degree in food science, food technology, or engineering, or in a similar discipline or equivalent. - Ideally possesses 5 to 10 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility. Experience in planning, scheduling, and coordinating production/ manufacturing processes, at a supervisory or management level, ideally with pet food/meat industry or high-risk food manufacturing experience **Required Skills/Abilities**: - Someone who can think on their feet - Getting the job done promptly and accurately - Someone who can challenge the status quo and passionate driver of continuous improvement initiatives, safety improvement, efficiencies, and reliability - Inclusive in management style, capable to engage a team and create a collaborative workplace and build a high performing team - Strong written and oral communication skills and can communicate cross-functionally to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders - Effective problem-solving skills and root cause analysis skills - Excellent analytical skills and strong capabilities of working with multiple pieces of data and transforming them into meaningful relevant information - Proficient in Microsoft Office programs - Familiar with a culture of 5S, TPM, LEAN/Six Sigma - A curious nature with high decision quality and ability to stand alone **What you get by joining us**: If you like what you read above and you think you have what it takes to join our innovative team,
