**Job description**

**Extrusion**
- Motivate workers to enhance production quantity and at the same time maintain high production standards
- Check finished products to ensure quality, and that industry standards are met before they are declared ready for use
- Monitor workers on shift during production activities to ensure adherence to ethics and safety procedures
- Ensure that products and goods are manufactured to meet quality standards.
- Manages continuous inspections of products both visually, and records product and process parameters.
- Aligns extrusion operating parameters to product specifications.
- Oversees the extrusion line and surrounding area clean and orderly and in compliance with 5-S and any lean initiatives.
- Performs work of an equal or lower classification as required.
- Ensure that work materials are present when needed.
- Analyses ingredients usage in the formula depending upon the required specification.
- Manages loader/packing staff and packing requirements.
- Facilitates encoding of the formulation according to scheduled (Requirements) and operates the batching system automation.
- Collaborates with QA to get sampling in process.
- Designs and facilitates the new technician/operator to operate the machine base on Standard Operation Procedure (SOP)
- Willing to assist and be trained in other areas in manufacturing.
- Any other reasonable management instruction

**Maintenance**:

- Analyses issues to troubleshoot and improve all plant equipment to ensure efficient/ smooth operation.
- Facilitates compliance with NZ work safe standards.
- Evaluate manufacturing equipment for safety and functionality
- Completion of Basic Equipment Care
- Provide support to Engineering & Maintenance activities

**Work location**:Willing to work at Jellicoe Street, Te Puke, New Zealand

**Work hours/schedule**:Normal working hours is 40 hours per week (with guaranteed minimun 30 hours work per week). Required to work shifts between the hours of 7.00am to 3.30pm, 3.00pm to 11.30pm and 11.00pm to 7.30am; five days per week (rostered).

**Job Qualifications**:

- **With at least 5 years of relevant experience as an EXTRUSION TECHNICIANS OR ENGINEER IN A PET FOOD/FOOD MANUFACTURING facility with experience as a Production Engineer and/or 3 years of which in a supervisory capacity or Team Lead.**:

- With technical competencies and experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting extrusion machines; experience on process engineering and reliability is an advantage
- Good in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and flexible
- Strong ability to motivate, lead and give directions to team members
- Good communication skills both oral and written
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and relate effectively with all members of the team from various backgrounds
- With a background in process improvement, ideally with Lean Six Sigma qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills and profound ability to schedule multiple activities and resources for efficient and effective utilization
- Willing to work in New Zealand.

**Salary**: $57,800.00 - $60,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
- Shift work
