A new created opportunity has arisen for a Senior Design Manager to join the team in Auckland, to help oversee the design, consent and procurement of the high-profile Downtown Carpark project on a 12-month contract. This incredible opportunity will deliver a true mixed-use precinct encompassing, office, residential and hospitality as well as new urban spaces for residents and the public.

**The Opportunity**:
As the Senior Design Manager you will work closely with the Project Director and senior leadership team to oversee the preliminary design and provide technical expertise across all facets of the project. You will be working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders managing the design, risk and complexities to create a world-class development for the Auckland CBD.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Employ technical expertise in the design process across the different asset classes on the project.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of design processes through all stages of design for feasibility, consenting and procurement.
- Working closely with design teams on complex issues, and progress on the project.
- Assist the Development and leadership team where required.
- Work with internal stakeholders, external consultants, iwi, contractors, suppliers, council, and regulatory authorities to ensure all project outcomes are met.
- Reporting to the Project Director giving detailed progress reports.

**What You'll Bring**:

- Senior design management experience across project initiation and predesign, concept, preliminary and developed design stages, detailed design, and documentation.
- Previous experience in high end design, ideally in complex coordinated design projects.
- Preferred background in commercial/residential apartment mixed use design developments.
- Understanding of, or experience in construction and/or engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of building codes and regulations.
- Essential soft skills - transparent and open, collaborative and works well as part of a wider team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage the demands of designers, engineers, and consultants.
