About the role

The Manager-Social Services and the teams reporting to the position are responsible for carrying out of a range of social services duties in the community. This includes developing specific plans related to contract activities and executing and reporting on contract outcomes. The role includes working with the COO on the development of proposals for initiatives in family support, family harm, building financial capability and the wider social context.

Works in a close collegial manner with other section managers on The Fono’s Integrated Model of Care in social, health and educational matters. This is a senior position critical to The Fono continuing to thrive and deliver increasing advantages to its beneficiaries.

The position is based in Henderson but has activities across Auckland. It is 40 hours per week.

About you

You will be motivated to significantly contribute to raising equity in wellbeing services, particularly for Pacific people through delivery of effective programmes and support. You will have:

- Experience and a relevant degree in a social services discipline
- A sound understanding of community organisation management and service delivery
- An ability to work with our other section managers to strengthen integrated service delivery to individuals and families
- Proven experience in working with government and other agencies
- Budget development and project management experience
- Demonstrated a thorough understanding of communication in every sense with good communication skills (personal, presentation, media in all forms)
- Ability to report succinctly and accurately
- Staff management experience
- An ability to develop rapport with a wide range of people
