About the roles

Investment in our mental health services, now branded as LagiOla - Healthy Minds, continues grow and develop. We continue to transform how The Fono provides health and wellbeing services for Pacific families with the establishment of a Cultural Navigator team and a Cultural Navigator Lead role. Cultural community navigators are new to our dynamic mind health team and will be an integral part of supporting our families to address the stressors and strains that impact wellbeing and mind health. This is a rare team lead opportunity combined with frontline engagement with individuals and their whanau.

The role will extend and strengthen The Fono’s integrated way of working, and includes teamwork with the LagiOla leadership team, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Counsellors, Health Coaches and integrated Whanau Ora and Social Services. Pacific values, beliefs and practices sit at the heart of what we do, guiding our approach to serving.

About you

You will see this leadership role as a tremendous opportunity to use your skills and training in vital areas of need. You will be motivated by the opportunity to lead a group significantly contributing to improving wellbeing for Pacific people through the delivery of community, cultural and health navigation support services. You will have:

- Suitable qualifications and / or navigation experience for the role sought.
- A deep understanding of Pacific cultures and protocols and the ability to engage from a variety of backgrounds.
- A positive ‘can-do’ attitude, flexibility, and excitement to be part of something new.
- Energy to be part of and contribute to the ongoing development of the exciting LagiOla development at The Fono.
