**The Opportunity**:
Gain valuable real-life experience & insights through the role of Advanced Clinician Social Worker to provide social work intervention and support at Middlemore Hospital. Experience in Women’s Health and Child Protection Social Work would be an advantage. This position sits within the Community Midwifery Services where the social work role is to support the midwives by coordinating the referral and linkages of clients and their whaanau to the most appropriate community services, and to provide social work intervention.

Your understanding of health and disability issues together with sound counselling and a robust understanding of frontline trauma intervention skills, will enable you to work with patients and their families in a therapeutic and holistic way. A commitment to working with other disciplines within a multidisciplinary team environment, excellent understanding of and commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti O Waitangi, and an understanding of Tikanga Maaori or a Pacific Island language would be an advantage.

**Essential**:

- Recognised Social Work Qualification (Minimum qualification level B) and an annual practising certificate
- Working towards a relevant Masters or higher qualification
- A minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience, including 3-4 years full time experience in the area of speciality
- Sound knowledge and skills in child protection and women’s health social work
- Professional supervision experience
- Experience in teaching, mentoring and coaching
- Full, clean driver’s licence
