We have an opportunity for a self-motivated and confident individual to join our Regulatory Services Team as our Monitoring and Enforcement Officer on a full-time basis.

You will be responsible for providing technical regulatory and enforcement advice to all Council departments, you will be required to monitor the conditions imposed on resource consents and be able to make sound decisions to ensure compliance.

As the Monitoring and Enforcement Officer no day is the same, on any one day you could be monitoring resource consent conditions and conducting site visits, responding to service requests from the community and council colleagues, preparing and issuing of permits, notices and infringements as well as assisting the Parking and Dog Control Officers when required.

As the successful applicant you will have:
 a tertiary qualification in planning or resource management.

 experience in local government would be an advantage but is not essential.


strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to

communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various levels with

proven relationship building experience.



the ability to be a highly motivated team player who is well-organised and committed

to providing excellent service and quality results.

 the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and meet

deadlines.
