Rates Officer

Are you detail oriented, customer focused and ready to make a difference in your community? We seek a proactive and professional Rates Officer to join our Rates and Debtors team for a one-year parental leave cover.

As Rates Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and efficient operation of our rating system.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Setting and assessing annual rates and quarterly instalments
- Processing rates adjustments, refunds and penalty runs
- Providing excellent customer service to ratepayers and internal teams
- Promoting and processing rates rebates
- Assisting with rates and sundry debts collection and payment arrangements
- Maintaining accurate records including kerbside bin allocations and rates remissions.

We are looking for someone who brings:

- 3-5 years experience in a similar role, ideally within Local Government
- Great numeracy, analytical and communication skills
- Strong computer skills and a genuine interest in using technology to achieve process improvements and effective outcomes.
- A friendly, professional manner and a commitment to customer service
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- A team oriented attitude and the ability to work independently.
