Christchurch City Council's procurement team is one of the largest in the South island. Our purpose is to support fair and transparent procurement, to help deliver sustainable, innovative and value-for-money whole-of-life public services. We are now looking for a Procurement Manager to step into this integral leadership position.

With a focus on one or more allocated procurement categories, as Procurement Manager you will:

- Develop category management strategies and lead the collective response to procuring works, goods and services to support the Council's strategic objectives and maximise realisation of benefits;
- Provide strategic procurement guidance and technical expertise to colleagues and business units;
- Actively promote our procurement policy that includes embedding sustainable procurement principles into all our procurement activity; and
- Be a rock star when it comes to energising, empowering and leading your team to ensure high-performance delivery.

**A bit about you**

Your professional background will give you an assortment of experiences to draw from, and you'll come to us as a confident and experienced leader of people with a background in procurement.

We would love you to have an understanding of programme management with knowledge or previous experience of procurement within facilities management and maintenance services, transport and infrastructure.
