- Salary - $146,874 - $220,310 Tēnei tūranga - About the Role: The Operations, Tasking and Improvement branch (OTI) ensures INZs key operational activities are delivered and big rocks are taken care of. The Business Operations Team within OTI ensures specific operational activities are governed, tasked and overseen in accordance with best practice methodologies. This includes an amount of liaison within the Ministry and externally with all of government. With their team of six, the Manager System Action and Tasking becomes involved in solving some of our most complex issues within a 3-6 month horizon, often starting in situations of significant ambiguity requiring an amount of fact-finding, problem definition and scoping.

**As the Manager System Action and Tasking for INZ, you will**:
- Maintain an operational delivery governance framework in the form of procedures and templates
- Lead a small team of experienced Principal, Senior, and Business Advisors
- Recommend operational priorities
- Oversee INZ’s responses to things such as Royal Commissions of Inquiry
- Provide advice to the National Manager Business Operations, Duty Chief Operating Officer, and the Chief Operating Officer Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required
- Demonstrated ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative information
- Experience leading and driving cross organisational action using well-governed methodologies and templates
- Knowledge of the NZ visa system and the national security environment is desirable
- Ability to direct and coordinate through a team, operational activities in a timely way, sometimes with incomplete information, using assumption-based critical thinking
- Proven ability to manage internal and external relationships and build rapport and trust with executives up to tier 2
- Ability to influence others, including upwards, and crystalise complex issues
- Must be an NZ citizen in order to have the ability to gain and maintain a national security clearance To be successful you will need to be a New Zealand citizen or hold a Permanent Residence visa
