SUMMARY

To develop and update course materials for training programmes and deliver practical training and assessment programmes that improve workplace performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To work with individuals and/or organisations to develop and provide engaging, relevant practical training and assessment programmes across infrastructure industries
- To provide work type competency (WTC) and industry Health and Safety related training
- Establishing customer needs for training and assessment
- Developing and updating course training material and training activities
- Developing and updating assessment activities and carrying out post-course and workplace assessment
- Carrying out internal moderation of assessment
- Assessing the effectiveness of own training design and delivery
- Staying up to date with industry practice, rules, and standards
- Liaise with relevant organisations, industry, and professional bodies, where required
- Keeping training and assessment information up to date and correct in the company training database
- To work well within the iskills team and its values to maintain a high level of quality and ensure continued business success
- Other functions as determined by business requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- An Electrical Registration AND/OR
- Other recognised relevant technical qualification g., Electrical Trade Certificate, National Certificate or New Zealand Certificate in Electricity (Distribution)/Engineering and/or Telecommunications Level 3 or Level 4
- A full clean driver's licence
- Proficient computer skills
- At least three years' industry work experience in either the Telecommunications, Electricity Supply, or Infrastructure Industry

- Meeting external and internal moderation requirements
- High quality outputs (accuracy and initiative) in all aspects of work
- Ability to competently use Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet

Desirable:

- Experience with supervising/mentoring staff
- Experience in a training role
- Understanding of the New Zealand Electricity Supply Industry from generation to distribution
- Understanding of the New Zealand Telecommunications industry and infrastructure
- Clear understanding of current statutes and codes of practice governing work in the Electricity and Telecommunication Industries
- Knowledge of the NZQA framework
