Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.

We have vacancies for Health Case Assistants in our 46 bed, elective and acute care Orthopaedic Ward at Tauranga Hospital. Both permanent full-time and part-time positions are available.
The role of the Health Care Assistant involves working under the direction of our highly motivated, friendly and enthusiastic nursing team who are committed to delivering comprehensive quality care to patients having had elective surgery, or experienced trauma.
Within this ward is an eight-bed focused Orthopaedic Geriatric Unit to support patients as they make the transition back into the community setting. The goal of the orthopaedic ward is to provide individualised focused patient care in a safe, supportive environment.
Applicants must have recent experience and completed a Certificate in Health Care Assistance Level 4 (or other equivalent qualification), be available to work across all seven days of the week, including morning, afternoon and night shifts.
