**_ About the role_**
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Parks and Facilities Advisor In this role you will assist with the development, review, and implementation of policies, strategies and plans related to parks and recreation. You will also work alongside other teams and provide advice to the wider organisation and the public on parks and facilities matters. Typical tasks include, researching land status and history, assessing the potential effects of proposals, interpreting legislation and policy to practical situations, engaging with the public, writing and presenting reports.
This is a fulltime (40 hours per week), permanent position based in our Te Aroha office. The salary range for this position is $76,952 to $90,531.
**_ About you_**
Our ideal applicant will have a tertiary qualification. It would be preferred if the relevant qualification was in a field such as public policy, planning, amenity horticulture, environmental management or similar.
Ideally you will already know your way around policies, plans and legislation, will have excellent time management and the ability to think strategically will come naturally.
Two years work experience in local authority or government organisation is essential.
