Join our team as Field Staff Asset Maintenance - Playgrounds and help bring our newest playground upgrades to life
This is a newly created full-time permanent role within the vibrant Parks & Open Spaces team, focused on supporting the delivery of on-site maintenance and compliance for two exciting destination projects: Destination Play and Marine Park Otupaiia.
You'll be working on the ground - keeping playground assets safe, compliant, and ready for action -while learning alongside seasoned Parks professionals. Through dedicated mentoring, you’ll develop a unique skillset in playground maintenance and asset compliance, helping to ensure these landmark play spaces continue to bring joy to the community.

Key Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa matua
Ensure all health and safety directions/instructions are followed.
Carry out field work as scheduled/directed.
Engage with the public and provide a quality customer service.
Utilises resources effectively.
Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation
Essential Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako
Field experience in the maintenance of parks and reserves assets that may include playspaces, hard landscaping, construction, horticulture, arboriculture, cemeteries, and turf culture.
Full driver’s license - Class 2 preferred or studying to learn
Keen to undertake further training to progress in role
General fitness at a level to be able to cope with the demands of the job.
Have a “can-do” attitude.
