**Position Description**

**Position: CASHER /BARISTA WAIT STAFF**

**Place of work**: **216 Mill Road -Bombay or SH 1 - Papakura**

**Reports to**: Café Owner / Café Manager / Shift or Duty Manager

**Responsible for**:Other front of house staff

**Inter-Relationships**: Kitchen Staff

**Primary Function**:
To prepare and present quality beverages according to Autobahn Café recipes and procedures. To ensure under the guidance of the Shift or Duty Manager that a high and correct standard of coffee is maintained.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and present beverages according to Autobahn Café recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain a high and correct standard of coffee & hot beverage service
- Ensure that customers receive efficient and courteous service at all times
- Have a good knowledge of coffee and coffee beverages.
- Carry out any requests by the Café Manager or Duty Manager or Shift Manager
- Ensure the barista area is kept clean and tidy
- Maintain and keep clean the coffee machine, café equipment. Crockery, cutlery and utensils.
- Ensure all food, beverage & non consumables are accounted for and charged for.
- Assist with stock control
- Monitor and order stock if required
- Follow our policies, particularly in regard to wastage, breakage & personal grooming.
- Ensure that all property is handled with due care
- Be fully conversant with Autobahn Café standards, operations and services and carry out these duties to these standards.
- Deal with customer complaints, queries with authority or refer it to your Manager.
- Follow set policies to maintain standards for H & S at work in all food preparation areas.
- Inform the designated management if any hazards are identified that may affect work conditions.
- Maintain a good working relationship with fellow staff and any management
- Maintain positive relationship between kitchen and front of house staff.
- Be flexible in relation to working longer hours or additional hours other than your rostered shifts.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Any other duties the employer or Café Manager may reasonably require

**Preferred Competencies**:

- Working knowledge of all forms of coffee and standard beverage recipes
- Organisational and time management skills
- Experience using coffee making equipment

**Interpersonal and Personal skills**:

- Excellent customer service skills
- Positive attitude and outgoing personality
- Energetic attitude
- Ability to work competently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
- Polite, friendly and helpful
- Reliable and flexible to change

**Salary**: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Papakura, Auckland: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
