**The Role**

Synlait are looking for a Senior Environmental Technician to join our professional team at our busy Pokeno manufacturing site.

The main responsibilities in this role include
- Direction of the Environmental Technician Team and reporting of results to appropriate areas of the site
- All routine and non-routine environmental sampling and swabbing involving
- Environmental surface swabbing,
- Powder sampling, Water sampling,
- Air sampling
- Pest control inspections
- Ensuring that all swabs reach the laboratory in a timely manner for testing
- Provide daily results notifications, monitor trends and provide support to the manufacturing team
- Leading environmental breach investigations

Key to your success will be your ability to build strong and supportive team relationships with our Technical, Manufacturing and Warehouse teams so we can ensure our operating plants are free from microorganisms.

**Skills and Experience**

This is a shift based role working 40 hours a week, with the ability to discuss flexibility of the shift days and times with the Hiring Manager to suit your work/life balance.

To be considered for this role will require
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
- A background in food or dairy based science or technology
- Knowledge of Environmental Monitoring/Sampling/Hygiene
- The ability to work at pace in a high pressure environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Pride in your work and the accomplishments you achieve

Experience in Microbiology is also highly advantageous in this role
