We are now looking for an **Environmental Technician and Sampler** to join our team at **Mangere, Auckland Site.**
Your role will be to take responsibility for all routine and non-routine environmental sampling, swabbing and pest inspections as per Environmental Management Programme (EMP), Allergen Management Programme (AMP), Water Management Programme (WMP) and Pest Management Programme (PMP). You will also need to take a proactive approach on observing and investigating any hygiene issues in manufacturing. Meeting key deadlines for sampling, swabbing and testing whilst liaising with manufacturing and laboratory.

This position will be responsible for a variety of product sampling tasks. These include - subsampling of finished product manufactured in the plant, sampling of raw materials (ingredients and packaging) prior to use in the manufacturing plant, processing in process samples and performing other sampling requests as required by sales, product release, technical and other teams.

The role will ensure that all samples reach the laboratory on time for testing with the correct information as per the documented processes and that all products are registered correctly.

It will involve heavy lifting (up to 15kgs) is required in some cases by strictly following the H&S requirements for heavy lifting hazard

**This role may be required to work on the weekends and in varied shift hours during the weekdays. Flexibility in working hours as per the production requirements is essential.**
- Minimum Bachelors Qualification in science (e.g. Microbiology and Chemistry) is required.
- Ability to work competently and effectively on your own as well as within a team
- Strong skills in organising, planning and prioritising.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential
- Good computer skills
- Knowledge of sample registration in a laboratory for testing would be an advantage
- Knowledge of hygiene practices in a food and/or dairy industry would be an advantage.
