**All about the role**

You will be a key part of an effective and engaged team who deliver high quality Building Assurance services. We are customer focused and get things done. We are seeking a highly experienced professional with the drive to grow team capability and a strong customer focus.

As a Senior Building Consenting Officer (Inspections), you will be required to:

- Provide technical expertise and advice on matters relating to the Building Act 2004, New Zealand Building Code and other associated regulations up to a Commercial 2 level
- A professional or tertiary qualification acceptable under Regulation 18, Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006
- Ensure our customers receives professional, reliable, and timely advice across a broad range of building regulatory matters
- Contribute to developing and maintaining a technically capable team through mentoring and developing others
- Conduct research and investigations on historic building consents, complaints and building disputes through to a resolution
- Actively participate in business improvements, team decision making and provide technical support to peers and leadership team

**About you**

You’ll need to show us that you have:

- proven high level of technical building inspection knowledge and significant work experience in the regulatory environment
- experience in providing professional regulatory building inspection services up to a Commercial 2 level (building and plumbing)
- have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to foster effective working relationships
- can mentor and coach others on a technical level and bring a positive approach to developing others
