We are looking for flexible entry level and experienced household staff to be join our team. This role is a great way to learn how a hospital works and get a foot in the door to a world of opportunities.

You will be part of the team that contributes to the hospital running smoothly, whatever the time of day or day of the year. You will make our hospital a place where people can get better safely, families can visit in comfort, and staff can do great work in a hygienic and safe environment.

The roles involve thorough cleaning throughout the wards, operating theatres, public areas and offices, as well as changing beds, and laundry and rubbish collection. You may also do the tea rounds, have contact with patients and support the nursing and orderly staff.

**Available Positions**

**Casual positions**

We are looking for people who are available to work on a casual basis, primarily covering staff leave. With 50 household staff in our team, we often need cover for annual and other leave between the hours of 6.30AM and 11.00PM.

There are no fixed hours associated with casual employment. However, the more available you are, the more shifts you will be offered.

**Permanent full-time position (**1.0FTE)* working 80 hours a fortnight.**

**Shift**:10.30AM to 7.00PM, Monday to Friday

**Permanent part-time position **(0.375)* **working 30 hours a fortnight**

**Shift**:4.00pm to 7.00pm, Monday to Friday.
- This position is at Alexandra Hospital, Richmond, Nelson_

**If the shifts above don't suit you, but you'd still like to work as a housekeeper, please contact Tania **(our Household Supervisor) as we'd still like to hear from you, and a suitable shift may arise in the near/medium future.

In addition to hourly rates, we pay penal rates for evening (after 8.00pm) and weekend work, Kiwisaver and additional payments/time off if you are rostered to work on a public holiday. You will also be supported to get your qualification in Cleaning (NZQA Level 2 & 3).
- **FTE** stands for _Full-Time Equivalent._ E.G. 0.5FTE equals half of a full-time position.

These positions would suit people with experience in cleaning/customer service OR people with no experience, but a passion for being part of one of New Zealand’s fastest growing sectors and seeing how a hospital ticks. To be successful in this role you must be reliable, have a positive attitude and consistently deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service. Full training will be provided.

**_ Mandatory requirement_**

For the health and safety of staff and patients you are required to have completed your primary course of two NZ approved Covid-19 vaccinations.
