**Early Childhood Educator.**

An Early Childhood Teacher in New Zealand is responsible for fostering the learning, development, and well-being of young children, from 6 months to five years old. The role includes planning for and supporting age-appropriate learning based on Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum, promoting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

ECE Teachers also build strong relationships with children, families, and whānau, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment, observe and assess children’s progress, and support cultural diversity, particularly incorporating Māori perspectives and language into teaching.
