At Jacobs, our Energy Generation and Storage Solutions Team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.
**Here’s What You’ll Need**:
Our Energy Generation and Storage Solutions business in New Zealand is expanding and currently seeking a Senior Associate or Principal Wind Engineer. You’ll join a globally connected, multidisciplinary team of industry experts and mentors. The team is managed by a female leader of our ANZ business who is passionate about the energy transition and diversity and part of Jacobs team for nearly 20 years, you’ll also be supported by a local Team Lead too. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your career and influence our business whilst working on Wind projects through the full cycle of development from concept, through construction, to operation, collaborating with our Technical Directors and specialists.
We have offices in Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington, so you can work from these locations or perhaps you’d prefer to work remotely or part time, or are considering returning to New Zealand? We’re looking for someone with the following experience, however, if you do not meet all the requirements, please apply, attach a cover letter and tell us why you’re right for this role This is a senior role, which will engage with clients, so we’re hoping to find someone that has considerable work experience in the following areas:
- Knowledge and experience of the Wind energy sector, with previous experience in consulting or client-facing roles highly regarded.
- Motivated and willing to engage with clients, deliver proposals and lead projects.
- Some exposure or willingness to grow Wind farm development ability, including numerical capability, utilising software and writing technical documents.
- Skilled in delivering Wind industry analysis, studies, and reports for both on and offshore Wind Projects.
- Analytical skills, with capability in Wind industry software such as windPRO, WindFarmer, Openwind, or WAsP is highly regarded.
- Some experience using data analysis software, such as Python, and use of GIS tools.
- Wind project delivery including Independent/Owners or Lenders’ Engineering and project due diligence is desirable, but not essential.
- Ability to work both as part of a multi-disciplinary team and autonomously.
- Relevant Engineering Degree and post graduate studies highly regarded.
