We are looking for an experienced Associate or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join the team in Christchurch and take over as team leader.

**The Role**:
The Associate or Principal Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for the following:

- Plan supervise geotechnical investigations.
- Prepare site-investigation and other geotechnical reports for review.
- Schedule and review geotechnical laboratory testing, analysis test results.
- Develop solutions to a range of geotechnical engineering problems.
- Undertake geotechnical engineering designs and prepare construction and or contract documentation as appropriate.
- Manage of QA for earthworks, construction monitoring and associated liaison with clients, contractors and regulators.
- Manage field work undertaken by others as appropriate and undertake quality assurance for the completed work.
- Manage assigned geotechnical projects and take responsibility for deliver on time and within budget.

**Requirements**:
**Qualification, Skills & Personal Attributes Required**:

- A degree based professional qualification in geotechnical engineering or a related profession
- Preferably 12+ years of experience in a wide range of geotechnical engineering projects.
- A thorough understanding of Civil and Geotechnical Engineering project operations and a good understanding of Geology with wide experience in both the technical and practical aspects of geotechnical investigations, geological mapping, the interpretation of tests data, analysis and preparation of geotechnical reports and design solutions.
- A sound knowledge of the technical aspects of geotechnical-engineering design and the practical limitations of construction techniques and tolerances
- Knowledge of relevant design codes and practices and relevant legislation such as the Resource Management Act and the relevant provisions of the Building Act and code, plus a commitment to addressing any additional needs.
- A knowledge of current computer-based design processes sufficient to ensure management of this activity within the team.
- An ability to prioritise, manage workflows and work independently.
