**About the Role**

We are seeking a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our Perioperative Department based at Tauranga Hospital. This position has become available due to an increased focus on providing high-quality care and supporting our growing surgical services.

As an integral member of the team, you will assist patients and clinical staff throughout their surgical journey, from preparation to recovery. Your compassionate and reliable nature will contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient theatre environment, ensuring the best outcomes for patients and their whānau.

This is a permanent position up to 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) and we encourage you to indicate in your cover letter how many hours you want to be considered for.

**About the Team/Service/ Location**

Our Perioperative Team is a group of skilled and supportive professionals dedicated to delivering excellent patient care. Situated in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, this region is know for its stunning beaches, warm climate, and welcoming community, offering an unmatched work-life balance.

**About you**
- Experience as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare or surgical setting.
- A Health Care Assistant Certificate Level 4 (preferred) or Level 3.
- Patient-centred approach with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
