Part Time Team Member

**Chipmunks Playland & Café**

**Summary**
Due to the very nature of Chipmunks centres, Team Members need to be able to carry out a number of tasks. These tasks may differ from shift to shift depending on the requirements of the centre as seen by the Franchise Owner or Manager. Team Members may be assigned to the one task for a long period or may be assigned to a number of different tasks all during the one shift period.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**: (other duties may be assigned)

**Reception**
- Welcome customers to the centre with a big smile and a good attitude.
- Demonstrate ability to adjust to customers with different personalities. Be courteous when handling customers’ complaints and inquiries.
- Have a full understanding of the rules, the charges and the various programs available in the centre and being able to impart these to all customers with empathy.
- Correctly carry out the security procedures on customers and children entering and exiting the centre.
- Use the POS system to enter customer entry details, accept payment for entering and book parties etc. and know how to search the database for information.

**Party Host**
- Greet customers with a big smile and a good attitude.
- Organise the customers without getting flustered and keeping to the timetable.
- Organise the various aspects of the parties - the food, the certificates, the games, the

Chipmunk suit and its wearer, and the adults.
- Complete required documentation and check lists throughout the party process.
- Quickly clear and clean each party room ready for the next party.
- Use the POS system to search the database for information about the various parties for the day.

**Supervising the Playground, Mega Slide and Under 5’s Area**:

- Carry out the role of “Playground Supervisor” with a big smile and a good attitude.
- Watch all areas to ensure children are obeying the rules of play. Particularly watch out for bullying, running and unruly behaviour.
- Be firm but gentle when asking children to change their behaviour - parents will be
- watching.
- Pick up and dispose of any rubbish that may fall in the area.
- Clean up any spillages or a child’s toiletry accidents by following the OH&S guidelines. On a busy day, someone else may be called on to carry out this task.
- Endeavour to fix any equipment or machinery breakdowns or malfunctions as soon as possible. If unable to, notify the Franchise Owner or Manager as soon as possible.

**Café Cook**
- Be familiar with the compilation and recipes of all Chipmunks Café menu items.
- Follow the system of first in first out and complete the orders as quickly as possible while maintaining a high standard of presentation.
- Coordinate with the party host of the day to provide the food for all parties well-presented and on time.
- Keep the kitchen area well organised and clean as much as possible.
- Work with the Franchise Owner / Manager to compile the raw ingredients order for the next order date.
- Supervise the cleaning and putting away of dishes that have been returned from the café area.
- Maintain a sensible decorum in the kitchen remembering that customers are close by.
- Take delivery of and store correctly, all stock items delivered by suppliers. Know the requirements of the food safety plan.
- Be able to assist the Café waitperson in preparing meals and making coffee and tea.
- Be proactive and look for opportunities to help other team members.
- Clean benches and regularly sweep the floor.

**Café Waitperson**
- Greet customers in the café area with a big smile and a positive “can do” attitude.
- Monitor the café area well by attending to customers in a timely fashion to take then deliver their order.
- Demonstrate ability to adjust to customers with different personalities. Be courteous when handling customers’ complaints and inquiries.
- Use the POS system to enter customer orders and payment details and know how to search the database for information.
- As quickly as possible in the seating area; clear away dishes, rubbish and clean up any spills following the OH&S guideline.
- Correctly pack and unpack the dishwasher and put away clean dishes and cutlery.
- Be able to assist the café cook in preparing meals and making coffee and tea.
- Be able to assist customers with menu items out in the café seating area or behind the counter at the server.

**General Tasks**:

- Answer incoming phone calls at the centre with a big smile and “can do” attitude.
- General cleaning of all areas of the centre as directed by the Franchise Owner or Manager.
- Undertake the task of restocking display merchandise and food items from the stockroom.
- Be willing to suit up as Charlie Chipmunk.
- Supervise or attend to any special group visiting the centre e.g. after school care, mother’s play groups, school groups etc.
- If applicable, drive the centre's vehicle to pick up and drop off children.
