**He angitutanga: About the Role**

As a Senior Technical Advisor, you will lead the provision and development of specialist conservation technology advice, tools and resources to support the needs of our conservation functions. You will have a good understanding of national and international best practice in protection of threatened species and ecosystems using fit for purpose technology solutions.

You'll provide specialist technical advice and proposals to decision makers on the use of new and existing technology. The key to getting this right will be your ability to translate complex technical and scientific information into insightful analysis tailored to your audience. You'll provide support to groups across DOC to build their technical capability, whilst also growing an in-depth knowledge of your customers current and future needs.

- Significant expertise within a technology field, specifically in new and developing technologies including remote sensing, drones and LiDAR
- Demonstrated strength in project delivery
- Experience in the development and deployment of unique and novel technology solutions.
- Knowledge and experience of monitoring and management, including natural and historic heritage, community and visitor aspirations.
- Knowledge of environmental and conservation issues
- Exceptional collaboration and relationship management skills
- Understanding of the impact DOC and the government sector has on the Maori-Crown relationship.

The salary range for this position is $92,450 - $116,985 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment. Due to high volumes, we are not engaging with recruitment agencies for this role.
