**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The role of the Senior Data Analyst in Sector Operations Support involves gathering requirements from clients and stakeholders, developing publications and other information products to meet their needs, and working with a range of stakeholders to coordinate data and information which is available publicly. Publications include data tables, visualisations (charts, graphs), and written explanations of the data.

**Mōu | About you**

It is key that you will be able to translate robust data analysis into information for service planning and provide problem-solving and thought leadership to best inform the development of quality advice for monitoring and analysis.

As a senior in the team, you will also train and mentor more junior colleagues, support the Manager with leadership of the team, improve business processes and efficiency of working, and ensure the re-usability and efficiency of code.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A tertiary qualification in a statistical, mathematical, analytical, or other relevant field.
- Excellent technical ability and knowledge of coding in R and R Shiny, including developing R Shiny apps.
- Experience working with data lakes such as Snowflake.
- Proven experience with data visualization tools including Tableau and Power BI.
- 2+ years previous experience working in a data or analytically focused role. Strong analytical or statistical skills. Previous experience working with large and / or administrative datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to gather requirements from clients and stakeholders, communicate between technical and non-technical people, and analyse and present data to suit a variety of audiences.
