**How you’ll make an impact**

The Payroll Specialist is part of the Finance Team which undertakes the finance function for all of Xero’s worldwide operations. The Pay Team, within the wider Finance Team, is a global shared service. You will be part of the team responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of end-to-end payroll. The payroll system currently used is Netsuite Infinet Cloud, which has data integrations to Netsuite ERP and Workday HRIS. We also use Slack for communication and Zendesk for customer service. Xero also uses third party payroll providers for certain smaller payrolls in New Markets.

**What you’ll do**
- You’ll be responsible for the effective and accurate processing of end-to-end payrolls and associated processes, including:

- End to end monthly payroll processing for all staff through Infinet Cloud payroll (NetSuite)
- Administering payroll services in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and in line with the legislative, departmental and auditing requirements
- Identifying and resolving day to day payroll issues, escalating any significant risks and issues in a timely manner
- Assisting with the monthly balancing and reconciliation of the payroll control accounts, including accurate and timely payment of all payroll liabilities, in line with relevant legislation
- Administering superannuation and maintaining salary sacrifice arrangements
- Maintain accurate records and follow procedures with respect to the proper filing of hard/soft copy information
- Work with People Experience (PX) to maintain the integrity of employee data in Workday
- Respond to staff queries and promote a strong customer focus with ongoing emphasis on quality of service delivery
- Preparing all Payroll submissions including company specific payroll returns, tax returns, online filings with tax authorities, superannuation and worker’s compensation etc, ensuring all requirements are met within required timeframes
- Supporting the Payroll Team Lead/Payroll Manager in Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, and recommend solutions to improve the value delivered to customers and stakeholders
- Ad-hoc project work as required - eg new systems implementation and training, as appropriate

**What you’ll bring with you**
- Good understanding of legislation and 2+ years payroll processing experience gained through previous NZ payroll for a large company
- Prior experience in global payroll for a medium to large company is an advantage
- Experience with a cloud based system (we currently use Netsuite Infinet Cloud, WorkDay and Zendesk) is an advantage
- Strong planning, organisational and self-management skills with an ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- An aptitude for self-development for current and future employment
- A genuine team player who works collaboratively with and contributes to the function of a high performing team
- Understanding of General Ledger systems including payroll journals
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy essential
