Our client is a leading Australasian door solution design and manufacture company. With New Zealand and overseas locations, their products are household names throughout New Zealand and internationally.

With growth and expansion, and future succession planning, comes the need for additional people and we are looking for a **Senior Design Engineer** to join the Auckland based team.

You will be responsible for designing new and reviewing existing product designs, project managing client projects from start to finish and mentoring and supporting junior staff

Specifically, you will:

- Research, develop and design new products, including testing and documenting
- Create production drawings and product information
- Be involved in continuous product improvement
- Project manage client projects from start to finish
- Mentor and support junior staff

To be successful in the role you will:

- Be a tertiary qualified engineer
- Have at least 8 years’ product development design experience within manufacturing industry
- Have proven project management experience, including technical trouble shooting
- Be proficient at advanced level with SolidWorks

Personally, you will have excellent communication skills, be a proven team player and leader, and be committed and motivated to completing work in an accurate and timely manner.

On offer is a highly competitive salary, not to mention the prospect of working within a proactive organisation. With a global customer base there is potential for some overseas travel with this role.
