**Job Description**:
As a Senior or Principal HV Substation Engineer within our highly successful national Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team, you will be involved in the primary design of HV transmission and distribution projects throughout the Australia and NZ (ANZ) region.

Working within an engaging team of T&D experts in a supportive environment, you will contribute to the design of some of ANZ's critical electrical infrastructure that will ultimately improve the reliability and quality of supply to our communities.

Day to day tasks include:

- Concept and Detailed Design of HV substation primary systems, HV cable systems and earthing systems for NZ and Australian clients
- Site visits, inspections and testing as required (eg. soil resistivity testing)
- Drafting design reports
- Assisting with preparation of proposals
- Managing smaller projects or parts of larger projects
- Interfacing directly with clients on projects and new opportunities
- Providing technical expertise in accordance with project time, quality and cost objectives as agreed with Project Managers
- Compiling budget estimates and pricing schedules
- Opportunities for secondments to other parts of ANZ to AECOM, client or site offices

**Qualifications**:
You will have a solid grounding in primary electrical design and be able to demonstrate:

- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in transmission and distribution substation design
- Knowledge of the Transmission and Distribution industry in New Zealand, design experience with NZ and/or Australian electrical utilities will be highly favoured
- Site experience/experience in projects being constructed and commissioned
- Experience in suitable software packages
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Self-motivated and keen to progress career
- University degree - BE Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
