Based within Synlait’s Dunsandel manufacturing plant, this is a permanent opportunity where you will be trained on the operation of our highly automated plant to transform milk and ingredients into an added value product.

Responsibilities will include operating and training team members across all processing lines in the ingredients business unit including robotised palletising, automated powder packaging, AMF production and packaging and specialised evaporating and drying lines. Your knowledge of composition, rate, yield, quality and on-product time will be highly utilised and you will take ownership of this plant area whilst on shift, maintaining high levels of health, safety and hygiene.

This role will involve covering of Ingredients operations staff during long periods of absence, this will require flexibility and a hunger to learn all the roles across the ingredients team. This role will be agile so being comfortable and enthusiastic to follow where resource is most important.

**Skills and Experience**

Please be advised this is a shift based role, with shifts of 12.5 hours each, on a rotational roster (2 day shifts, 2 night shifts and 4 off).

To be successful in this role will require
- Previous experience in a food/dairy manufacturing environment.
- Base mechanical, electrical and automation knowledge with suitable educational qualifications
- Knowledge of milk powder development and the enthusiasm for continuous learning.
- Knowledge of powder packaging machinery and process and drive to implement autonomous maintenance in these areas
- Knowledge of Anhydrous Milk Fat production and packaging desirable, with a drive to understand process yields and implement improvement initiatives.
- Advanced problem solving and fault finding abilities with well-developed communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to demonstrate high attention to detail in a multi-task pressurised environment
- A dedication to Food Safety and HACCP systems and improvement.
