**Te wero - The Challenge**
Are you super organised, have a great eye for detail, a people person and have an excellent understanding and interest in Te Ao Māori? Then you are just who we’re looking for. We have a new Fixed Term role available, working closely with elected members, Iwi, Hapū and community groups to support Te Kuaka - Te Ao Māori Committee.
Key Accountabilities of the role:
- Coordinate, manage and administer the Te Kuaka Committee work programme and
- Attend stakeholder meetings relevant to the business of Te Kuaka Committee, taking minutes where necessary and following up on agreed
- Act as a liaison between Iwi, elected members, external or internal executives, managers and consultants, for effective meeting coordination and follow
You will be working within a great team providing executive level support to governance and operations. It’s a supportive team environment with flexibility to work across the district at offices in Kaitaia, Kaikohe, Kerikeri and at home depending on requirements.
As part of our whānau, your practice of whanaungatanga and manaakitanga will bring mana to this kaupapa.
**Āu Kōrero - About you**
This is the ideal opportunity for someone who is self-aware, has great intuition, excellent communication skills, and is meticulous about planning and tying up the loose ends. It is critical you have knowledge of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga in order to manage communications which will sometimes be in te reo Māori.
To be successful in this role you need to be agile, smart and have a bold approach to your work. You will also have:
- Discretion - working in a complex political environment means you need to understand the relationship between operations and
- Whanaungatanga - real people skills to build connections so you can expertly deal with people from all walks of
- A wealth of experience supporting executive level management roles, or at least the right attitude and skills to succeed in this busy
- A great sense of humour
This role would be well-suited to someone who has a community focus and values that align closely with that of Council, namely, manaakitanga, integrity and professionalism.
