**About the role | Mō te tūnga**

Simon Watts MP is looking for an MP Support Coordinator to join their team in the Electorate/Community office in Auckland. You’ll be supporting constituents to engage with their elected representatives, and helping your MP to connect with the community.

**What you will bring to the role| Tō kete**

We are looking for a proactive self-starter, who is enthusiastic and customer focussed. Your previous experiences in providing administrative support and customer engagement will be excellent. You’ll be comfortable dealing with people and be close to the issues facing the community, and be able to do this while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.

You’ll be highly organised and love working within a collaborative team. You’ll appreciate variety and flexibly pick up a range of duties.

As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be politically impartial in your role. An awareness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting your MP.

**Responsibilities |Ngā haepapa**
- Assist with community engagement and constituent services for the MP
- Monitor local forums, newsletters, and community Facebook pages where required, and maintain established information databases relating to work and contacts made in the community
- Help provide information and advice to constituents on parliamentary processes and services
- Maintain established databases and files relating to constituent issues
- Raise common constituent issues and escalate complex cases where agreed with the team manager and/or the MP

The pay band for the role starts at $32.50 per hour and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an ‘events-based’ agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. This role is a casual role without fixed hours, based in the Electorate/Community office in North Shore, Auckland. While the role is a casual one, we anticipate the hours may range between 10 - 20 per week.
