Sr Digital Hardware Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled **Senior Staff Digital Hardware Engineer** to fill positions at our Research and Development Centre located in _Wigram, Christchurch._
**Job Description - Senior Staff Digital Hardware Engineer**

The Senior Staff Hardware Engineer is responsible for the designing and development of all communication interfaces within in Enphase inverters as well as the implementation of digital and analogue circuitry around Enphase custom Asics. This includes all the design stages, from conception and design to PCB layout and implementation.
**Role/Duties**:

- Develop new products and variants through the product lifecycle
- Full technical ownership of cross functional developments as required
- Drive resolution of critical issues
- Work in cross-functional teams of hardware, firmware, test automation and mechanical engineers
- Specify, design, verify and debug complex circuits for our inverters and ancillaries
- Performance test products and sub-systems
- Assist product compliance engineers to achieve global certifications for our products.
- Specify engineering requirements, create test plans and generate test reports
Mentor junior engineers and supervise lab work
- Raise the bar for technical excellence, accurate documentation and scientific rigor
Reporting, and representation of significant developments to our Senior Stakeholders as required
**Qualification and Previous Experience**:

- E and 10 years’ experience outside of university or
- Masters and 3+ years
- Digital design and implementation experience
- Mixed analog design experience
**Minimum Requirements**:

- Digital hardware design including interfacing, MCUs, PSUs including SMPS
- Design for Signal Integrity experience
- Experience with comms protocols (CAN, RS485 etc)
- Interface protection and grounding design experience
- Experience in Radiated Immunity development and problem solving
- Cross-functional design and integration
- Real world experience in developing electronic products from the concept stage to market launch.
- Experience in circuit schematic, PCB layout and simulation tools
- Practical experience in testing and debugging hardware using oscilloscopes, multimeters etc

- FPGA/DSP/micro/ASIC use in design

Enphase Energy New Zealand is located in Wigram, Christchurch. We are a Research and Development Centre focused on the design and testing of our cornerstone product, the Microinverter. Enphase New Zealand has a team of around 80 engineers and support staff.
