You will work alongside a team of other phlebotomist - s based in the Pathology Dept at Te Whatu Ora Health NZ Waitaha Canterbury in Christchurch.

You - ll be passionate about providing a high-quality service and be able to build trusted relationships with patients and their whānau.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Providing a high-quality service to clients
- Collecting blood samples from inpatients and outpatients within the service
- Registering samples into the Delphic Laboratory Information System
- Carrying out processes required for the pre-analytical processing of samples
- Interpretation and input of request forms
- Checking of data for accuracy and information
- Liaising with staff, patients and referrers effectively
- Maintaining knowledge and on-going education in Phlebotomy

Your skills will include:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Bring proactive and taking initiative
- The ability to pick up and use technology and software systems
- Registration with the Medical Sciences Council is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
