**Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)**

As a Health Care Assistant you will be part of our dedicated nursing environment with full support. Your role is to work within the team to assist nursing staff in care delivery, one-to-one patient watches and other tasks as directed. We practice in a collaborative patient partnership model of care to achieve best outcomes for our patients/families and whānau.

This is a permanent position working AM, PM and Night shifts, rostered and rotating Monday to Sunday.

Shift times
- AM: 0700 - 1530
- PM: 1445 - 2315
- Nights: 2245 - 0715

**Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)**

You will have a mature outlook, the ability to get on with a wide variety of people, good information technology (IT) skills (especially with MS Excel and Word) and excellent organisational and communication skills.

You will also have the ability to work in a flexible and methodical manner, demonstrating honesty and reliability, and will be adaptable to change, use appropriate initiative and respond flexibly to service needs.

Experience within the health sector is essential and additional training will be provided.

**Qualifications**
- Essential_
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 English (or equivalent)
- Year 11 NCEA level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
- Preferred_
- NZQA level 3 qualification (or equivalent)

Te Whatu Ora staff are required to have completed their primary course of two NZ approved Covid-19 vaccinations.
- The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $51,770 to $61,540 based on the current NZNO Nursing and Midwifery MECA, dependent on skills, experience & relevant qualifications._
