**Mo te Tari o te Kaitiaki Mana Tangata - About the Ombudsman**: The Chief Ombudsman works with his staff to help New Zealanders in their dealings with government agencies. The focus is on handling complaints against government agencies, undertaking investigations and inspections, and encouraging good administration. The Chief Ombudsman is independent and impartial, with the goal of fairness for all. **Mo to matou tira - About the team**: The Publications and Digital team is a newly established team dedicated to delivering high quality content and publication across various platforms including websites, intranet, reports and corporate documents, with a focus on enhancing user engagement and accessibility, as well as the Ombudsman's online presence, ensuring platforms and content are engaging, relevant and fit for purpose. **Mo te turanga - About the role**: The role of the Junior Graphic Designer is to support the production of high quality visual content and to assist in the development of creative, innovative and accessible solutions that strengthen the visual identity of the Chief Ombudsman (internally and externally). This role is perfect for someone looking to learn and grow while contributing to day-to-day design tasks and projects and generating creative solutions to deadlines, whether delivering projects independently or as part of a team. You will collaborate closely with the Graphic Designer to produce work of the highest quality. **He korero mou - About you**: To be successful in this role you will have: - Relevant tertiary qualification and/or the equivalent work experience, knowledge, skills and attributes required to be successful in this position. - Experience in a junior design position preferable (portfolio showing potential). - Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, in particular InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, and proficient in Microsoft Office. - Experience working with social media platforms including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn and Instagram. - Have an avid interest and skills in in photography. - Experience of creating work that appeals to Maori, Pasifika, children and young people, and other priority audience advantageous. - Ability to produce engaging material for the priority audiences, including accessible documents. - Ability to think creatively and 'outside the box'. - Cultural awareness, including knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and Te Reo Maori or willingness to learn. **Te painga o te mahi tahi me matou - Our benefits, what we offer**: Becoming part of an exceptional team in a dynamic organisation, where the work is challenging and rewarding.
