A rare opportunity has become available within our Radiation Therapy service as the Clinical Team Leader Pre-treatment.

The Radiation Therapy service is a critical component of Te Pūriri o Te Ora Regional Cancer and Blood Service. The team comprises a complement of over 80 FTE who provide about 48,000 radiation therapy treatments per year to patients in the Northern region

As the Clinical Team Leader you will work in partnership alongside other treatment clinical team leaders. You will be responsible for the day to day operational management of treatment areas including the need for understanding of pre-treatment in collaboration with the pre-treat team leaders.

We are looking for an experienced senior Radiation Therapists with great teamwork and leadership skills who enjoy working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

It is expected that you will be an expert resource on pre-treatment issues and able to deliver high quality patient centred care. The role will comprise of a split of clinical and non-clinical time to provide leadership and up to date best practice in Radiation Therapy delivery in addition to ensuring that staff are well supported. You will be responsible for ensuring your direct reports receive regular performance reviews and appropriate opportunity to develop.

Reporting to the Radiation Therapist Head, you will be accountable for the planning and delivery of radiation treatment which complies with best practice and operates at optimal levels of capacity. You are the clinical expert for any clinical issues that may arise and able to take a leadership role in the introduction of new patient care processes and care delivery models. Participation in audit and research is essential.

This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Auckland City Hospital.

To be considered for the position, you will have a recognised tertiary qualification in Radiation therapy with MRTB registration and a valid APC.
