We are based in Otahuhu, Auckland, and are seeking aMaintenance Supervisor

The job is permanent and full time with a minimum 40 hours per week.

Main responsibilities

**Health & Safety**
- To recognize and promote at all times, the need for a safe working practice, as a benefit to themselves and their fellow employees and management alike
- In conjunction with fellow employees, maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the area for which they are responsible
- To report any hazard or safety issue by filling out the incident report form (seeking assistance if required)
- To initiate immediate corrective action that may be required to isolate or neutralize hazards or safety issues identified in conjunction with the Shift Manager or members of the Operations team
- Ensure contractors complete JSA prior to commencement of a task
- Ensure maintenance staff follow procedures such as LOTO

**Supervisory Duties**
- Responsible for directing the activity of maintenance staff
- Ensure that the required paperwork is completed and created in relation to work orders, PM and JSAs
- Ensure all maintenance works are completed within he allocated and agreed time frame
- Evaluate maintenance needs and priorities
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance programs such as training/skills development and safety
- Liaise with technical staff with respect to their areas of expertise, gaining advice and providing feedback
- Ensure that downtime is kept to a minimum during breakdowns by efficient organization of employees
- Liaising with contractors and suppliers as required
- Hands-on repairs and improvements where possible
- Being contactable to provide advice and/or assistance after hours or on weekends should urgent maintenance issues arise

**Experience, Education, Skills, Knowledge**
- Having a mechanical trade qualification or qualification in Engineering (mechanical / electrical)
- Proven track record and experience in a leadership position within a similar environment including performance development
- Ability to think on your feet, analyse problems and communicate effectively
- Be proactive and able to priorotise to meet tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of MS Office and Preventative Maintenance software
