**About the Senior Automation Engineer role**:
- Reports to the Director of Operations
- Designs low-voltage control systems.
- Develops functional descriptions.
- Develops PLC, IPC, and other software.
- Commissions control systems.
- Supports customers with system breakdowns through fault-finding and diagnostics of control systems.
- Trains customers’ operational and technical staff as relates to control systems.
- Trains and leads junior members of the team.
- Manages assigned projects in relation to budget, time, and quality metrics.
- Works at customer’s site when required for project and maintenance work.
- Occasionally works away from home for periods of time as needed by project requirements.
- Is available for rostered on-call support to customers.
**About you**:
- You hold a tertiary Engineering qualification and have electrical training.
- You have 5+ years of experience in control systems and automation.
- You have serious project engineering chops.
- You have process engineering experience.
- You do code development for PLC, IPC, and HMI/SCADA control machines.
- You do automation of custom production machinery systems.
- You take leadership in the technical direction of projects.
- You are skilled in process automation, plant control, and instrumentation integration.
- You have experience in upgrades and retrofitting of existing machinery.
