- About the role
Our Specialist Mental Health Services (SMHS) are at
the leading edge of mental health service delivery. We provide a range of
inpatient and community services to tangata tangata whaiora in the Waitaha Rohe (Canterbury
district).
TeAwakura is a 64 bed adult acute inpatient unit that provides 24 hour care forconsumers with mental illness. Our model of care focuses on integratedmultidisciplinary teams, providing excellent care for consumers in the leastrestrictive manner. There are four wards that form Te Awakura: North, East,South and West.
Providingservices to consumers in East Christchurch, the East Inpatient unit, comprisingof 16 beds, works closely with our outpatient team and other communityservices. We are made up of passionate clinicians who work in the patients'best interests at all times. We have a supportive team culture and encourageopportunities for growth and development.

the centrality of whānau in our work and the lives of tangata whaiora.
