In this role, you will support the Head of Financial Economic Crime, and the delivery of the FEC strategy to ensure a robust framework and control environment is in place to mitigate and manage the Bank’s exposure to FEC related risks.

You will be responsible for providing technical knowledge and expertise in relation to the FEC compliance requirements, driven from New Zealand legislation and Group Policy requirements (based on European and Global legislation). Specifically, the role covers the regulatory areas of AML/CFT, Sanctions, Fraud.

The role will also be required to support FEC related control and process remediation projects, provide technical advisory support on escalated matters and incident investigations, and support the assessment and oversight of regulatory change.

This is a specialist role requiring the role holder to assume hands on responsibility and direct accountability for tasks and activities allocated to them, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting the management of compliance risks within risk appetite.
- A solid understanding of the New Zealand regulatory environment and AML/CFT requirements and ideally sanctions and fraud
- A tertiary qualification in Commerce/ Economics/ Business/ Law. AML/CTF qualifications such as CAMS, ICA or equivalent advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Effective communication and influencing skills
