About the Role
We have a new opportunity for a seasoned Cybersecurity Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our Cybersecurity Architecture and Technical Services Team
As a Cybersecurity Consultant with Datacom, you will work with a growing, national consulting and advisory team to support a variety of engagements ranging from large government agencies and departments through to commercial and local councils.
Using your extensive knowledge and background, you will provide timely and effective security advice, supporting compliance, with mandated security standards.
Our Cybersecurity Consultants are responsible for a wide range of activities stemming from simple and straight forward solutions right through to more technically complex work.
You will be supported by a technically adept, skilled, and experienced global team while also having the freedom to work autonomously. As part of your daily activities, you will be entrusted, and hold accountability, with documenting the risks and security controls, to the the highest standard for current-state and target-state solutions that help drive the modernisation agenda

What You’ll Do
As a Cybersecurity Consultant, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Evaluating and making recommendations on the organisation's Cybersecurity architecture, including new security solutions, and providing implementation teams guidance to minimise interruption to services.
- Designing and implementing cybersecurity solutions
- Identifying business risks / vulnerabilities and suggesting enhancements to existing security products.
- Identifying security requirements for new systems, functions, business services and products.
- Liaising with other business units in the identification of controls and preparation of reports to management on security incidents.
- Consulting with client’s and your Datacom Cyber team in the development, deployment, documentation and management of security policies, procedures, standards, and strategies.
- Providing expertise and input on emerging security technologies, issues, and directions.
- Supporting and assisting with related organisational changes and activities that are required as an outcome of business improvement activities.
What You’ll Bring
- You will have at least 5 years Cybersecurity experience.
- You will be a great communicator, with the ability to explain complex technical security principles to various stakeholders and possess a background in large and complex projects.
- You will have a good command of government and commercial security standards, controls, and principles.
- You will be passionate about Cybersecurity and driven to making a customer’s environment safe and secure.
- You will be a quick learner, self-driven and have exceptional analytical skills. You are a team player, who is dedicated to both self-improvement and improvement of the wider Datacom community.
- You will have expert knowledge of Cybersecurity risk assessments and threat management, with proven ability to deliver information security solutions that meet business requirements and align with risk appetite and compliance obligations.
- Proven skills with securing cloud environments like AWS, Azure and/or O365 is ideal.
**Expected certifications include but are not limited to**:
- Microsoft or AWS Security Certifications, SABSA, CISSP, CCSP, CISA, Cloud security certifications, and applicable university degrees
