**The Role**

We’re seeking a skilled Security Systems Architect to own security for both our physical products and digital operations. This senior role encompasses responsibility for embedded systems security, as well as cloud and operational security, ensuring a comprehensive defence strategy across all platforms. You will be tasked with analysing security risks, defining and implementing mitigative measures, ensuring their implementation, and continuously monitoring and refining cybersecurity practices.

Your goal will be to ensure that complex, multi-disciplinary solutions are well fitted to business and product objectives, ensuring adherence to our security-related policies and incident response plans. You will be collaborating with the product development team, IT Operations, and leadership team.

Some of the things that you might be involved in include:

- Leading security architectural design of our products, performing threat modelling, security risk assessment and defining security requirements for our product design teams
- Collaborate across the business as part of the systems engineering function to build a secure design from the ground up, aligning with our product development lifecycle for safe and quality designs.
- Help achieve and maintain ISO27001 Accreditation
- Performing penetration testing on our own product and infrastructure before working with external parties to get maximum value out of external consultants
- Create and develop effective incident response plans
- Drive trade-off decisions using structured and data driven decision making
- Leading the security function within basis as a senior individual contributor

**About You**

We think you’ll be a fit for this role if you have the following skills/or traits:

- Experience with implementing ISO27001, as well as exposure or experience with IEC 62443 and IoT security experience
- Experience with new hardware product design, manufactured products and field deployment.
- Experience with designing and implementing secure cloud, mobile, and network infrastructure
- A Tertiary Qualification in a relevant discipline, such as IT or Engineering
- Threat assessment and risk management experience
- An ability to take initiative, follow through on what you say you’ll do, and own your mistakes
- Determination and tenacity, maintaining a positive attitude in challenging situations
- Clear, candid and concise communication skills - both written and verbal, but also an ability to be kind and compassionate when dealing with others
