**The opportunity**:
The Associate Director, Operational Readiness will ensure the identified operational, maintenance, training, and business change activities for major rail projects are completed successfully prior to commencing operation. In this role, you will work as part of an integrated delivery team, leading the operational readiness aspects for complex rail networks including the development, delivery and acceptance of operational and maintenance systems, processes, and plans.

**What you will be involved in**:

- Lead the Operations Readiness, ensuring the readiness plans are implemented and deliver the operations, customer and maintenance outcomes required.
- Resolve and report any issues with operational plans or supporting business readiness plans.
- Provide a robust testing and acceptance criteria for all systems, ensuring they deliver the outcomes required to run the operations effectively and to provide the outcomes expected and contracted.
- Ensuring all operations, customer and maintenance processes put in place deliver a safe operation.

**Experience & Qualifications**:
Essential
- Railway experience - including knowledge of interface of train and infrastructure and implementing significant change in operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing Operational Readiness processes.
- Experience managing/writing Operational Readiness plans.
- Experience managing trial running and sign off into operations.
- Experience of writing testing and commissioning criteria and acceptance process.
- Ability to understand and operate within the safety, licences, and contractual frameworks the rail operation works within.
- Ability to maintain focus on the outcomes / objectives set for the operations.
- Stakeholder Management and the ability to respectfully challenge.
- Identify and manage operational risks ensuring the project meets the key operational performance outcomes.
- Ability to manage time effectively among competing priorities.

Desirable
- GOA4 Metro experience.
- Knowledge/experience of working in the Australian rail industry.
