We have an exciting opportunity
for a Midwifery Educator,
working 32 hours a
fortnight (0.4 FTE), within the Midwifery team at Te Whatu Ora (Nelson
Marlborough).
We seek a passionate midwife who
can make a meaningful contribution to supporting excellence in clinical
midwifery practice across the region. The Midwifery Educator is a pivotal
position supporting evidence-based practice and the development of the
professional practice of midwifery.
This position will entail
providing midwifery leadership through working with the midwifery team across
the region and contributing to the wider Te Whatu Ora (Nelson Marlborough)
midwifery educational strategy.
The role is part of a
collaborative maternity team reporting to the Associate Director and Operations
Manager of Midwifery, and offers opportunities for personal development as well
as travel across the Top of the South.
The appointee will work closely
with the ADOM and Charge Midwife Managers to ensure Te Whatu Ora (Nelson Marlborough)
meets the national maternity quality standards through facilitating evidence-based
practice and supporting a sustainable midwifery workforce.
They will liaise with the
Midwifery Council and the NZ College of Midwives to ensure required midwifery
education and professional development opportunities are available for our
midwifery teams and the community based midwives, to meet professional
requirements to build midwifery knowledge and skills to advance client-centred
care. This position also supports interdisciplinary education and professional
support across the Nelson Marlborough district.
This position could be combined with a Core Midwife or another
midwifery role up to 1.0 FTE.

Midwifery and/or Education related postgraduate qualification(s) and do you

- extensive clinical midwifery experience?
- expertise in teaching/mentoring and coaching skills within

delivery across the spectrum of care?If
so we - d be keen to hear from you.
Whilst it is no longer mandatory, for the health and safety of staff and patients,
employees in this role are expected to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
