Purpose of Role
As an Associate Developer, you will be a member of a cross-functional agile team responsible for developing software products. You will be working alongside Software Developers of intermediate and senior ability, as well as other team members and consultants.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow your technical skills, including coding, testing, documentation, and collaborating with the team. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to technical excellence and has a positive attitude towards learning and working in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills are important, as you will be required to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders. This is an entry-level position for someone who is excited about starting their career in software engineering.
You will be part of a team who are growing the capabilities and services in the Visa Spend Clarity to deliver scalable and robust solutions that will take Visa Spend Clarity to more customers and users around the globe. With an engineering group of nearly 300 people, Visa Spend Clarity is a key focus area with large growth ambitions driven by customer needs and a desire to innovate using modern cloud technologies.
Areas of Accountability
As part of this role, you will:
- Develop.NET, SQL, and related front-end code
- Participate in technical design in collaboration with other developers, architects, and UX designers
- Follow coding style standards and guidelines
- Use Test Driven Development techniques
- Write unit, integration, and automation tests
- Learn Visa Spend Clarity domain concepts
- Write documentation
- Knowledge sharing with other team members
- Practice Agile methodology
- Contribute to improving team Agile processes
- Participate in active learning with an open mind
- This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager._
**Qualifications**
- Ideally one to two years’ experience in professional software development
- Ideally tertiary qualified with appropriate certifications.
- Some understanding of the Microsoft technology stack
- Some experience with the following technologies:
- .NET and.NET Core/Standard development in C#
- REST based Web API’s
- Microsoft SQL Server
- NET MVC 5, HTML, CSS, web standards (WAI)
- JavaScript, React, AngularJS
- Some experience with source control (e.g., Git, Subversion) and continuous integration (e.g., TeamCity)
- Good team collaboration skills and communication skills
- Good relationship building skills
- Self-motivation
- Attention to detail
- Open mind to learning skills and development processes
