AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards of safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key job responsibilities
- Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team, chief engineers, facility technicians and facility trainees.
- Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance.
- Ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices and procedures.
- Liaise with global team on global initiatives as well as process and procedures, and implement those initiatives
- Vendor management of data center services providers to meet contracted performance SLA’s.
- Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
- Cost management including OPEX and CAPEX associated with all data centers you are in charge.
- Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
- Lead and manage energy efficiency initiatives.
- Support capacity planning, Project planning, project management and control (including budgeting)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+years of relevant experience working as a Data Center Engineer
- 4+ years of Data Center Facilities Management Experience for a large enterprise or large Colocation provider
- Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout (copper / fibre) as well as low / high voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling, BMS Systems, Monitoring and alarming systems
- Expertise in one or more continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience managing mission critical facilities and people management
- In depth knowledge of DC facilities such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, electrical sub distribution systems, fire detection and suppression systems, cable reticulation systems
- Familiar with BMS and EPMS control systems and data collection/trending
- Knowledge in network and compute server platforms
- Ability to respond to all facility related emergency in a timely manner, with sound recovery plans.
