**About the team**
We are proud to be the largest integrated edible oils business in Australia and New Zealand, producing a wide range of quality food ingredients and animal feed products including specialist ingredients for infant nutrition.
**About the role**
We are currently seeking 2 Quality Assurance Technicians. This role is based at our facility in East Tamaki and reports through to the Quality Manager. You will work within a team that covers analytical and operational quality.
** This role will require you to be flexible in regard to working hours as we run 3 shifts which rotate. Each shift is 8.5 hours and you will be rostered on a 3.30am/5am/8am or 10.30. There is occasional Saturday work required and this is paid at a premium allowance**
**Key responsibilities include**
- Executing laboratory functions to ensure all testing, calibration and releasing of raw materials and products is performed accurately, on time and within specification
- Planning and coordinating the sampling, chemical & microbiological testing of all incoming, outgoing and refined fats & oils to meet customer and company specifications
- Managing the data entry and record keeping for all data and testing results relevant to product specifications into the Quality Management System
- Coordinating all bulk oil and packed product testing, release and resolution of issues that arise
- Provide support and advice to the refinery and Packing Room teams on all matters relating to food safety, quality and legality
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, regulatory, customer and company requirements
**About your experience**
You will be a talented and passionate Quality Technician with sound quality experience from within either food manufacturing, science, petrochemical or pharmaceutical industries. Your ability to work within a complex site and various production lines combined with your natural capacity to think on your feet and act with integrity will be your key strength. In addition, you will have a:
- Degree or diploma in Applied Science, Science or Food Technology or comparable experience
- Laboratory analysis techniques including chemistry testing and GLC/HPLC usage and trouble shooting
- Use of computer databases and excel
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication at all levels
- Food manufacturing exposure, particularly edible oils/refining Food safety knowledge, including HACCP and GMP is desirable
