The Director, Editorial quality and training will ensure that our kaimahi have the knowledge and skills to produce work that helps achieve our vision of creating outstanding public media that matters.

Our editorial policy applies to everything we create and publish. In this role you will support our news and content makers prior to publication, with advice and expertise to develop training programmes and champion our editorial policy_. _
- As the Director, editorial quality and training, you will:_
- Regularly review and update editorial policy.
- Provide advice and identify training opportunities for editorial, content leaders, journalists and content creators.
- Support teams to continuously improve editorial quality and ensure high quality outcomes for audiences.
- Provide sound guidance and advice to the Editor-and-Chief and wider teams on any challenging editorial issues or complaints.
- Guide the business and establish ways to measure the impact and effectiveness of editorial quality initiatives.

**Ōu Pūkenga - About You**
- To be successful in this role you will already have extensive experience with editorial decision making including:_
- Ideally a Tertiary qualification in journalism, and demonstrable experience providing reasoned advice when confronted with multiple, diverse viewpoints.
- Experience developing and maintaining working relationships at all levels, through highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgement and decisive nature.
- Proven analytical and problem solving, and effectiveness in unravelling the complex, teaching others and sharing your knowledge.
- Experience managing projects, prioritising tasks and managing changing priorities and demands.
- Ability to work alongside and build long lasting relationships across diverse communities and cultures. A commitment to fostering te reo Māori and embedding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi throughout all of RNZ’s services.
