- Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team at Pact Group. This position will be based in Wellington and falls under the department of Lower North Mental Health Services.
**Responsibilities**
- Providing support and assistance to individuals with mental health challenges within the community.
- Delivering person-centred care and practical support to empower clients in achieving their goals.
- Advocating for clients' rights and promoting social inclusion and community integration.
- Building positive relationships with clients, their families, and relevant community organisations.
- Maintaining accurate records of client interactions, progress, and any relevant information in accordance with organisational policies.
**Main Tasks**:
- Conducting regular home visits to provide emotional support and practical assistance as required.
- Facilitating group activities and workshops aimed at promoting mental health awareness and social interaction within the community.
- Participating in team meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
- Desired Skills and Experience
Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to build and sustain working relationships with our client, staff and external agencies is essential. Previous professional experience in the mental health field is desirable.
A level 4 or other relevant qualification in mental health is also desirable but not essential. Otherwise, there is an expectation that you will be willing to start working towards obtaining a level 4 mental health qualification after your first year of employment.
- A full driver's licence and computer skills are essential.
- If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
- Must be available for an interview in **Lower Hutt
